2007 Snare and Tenor/Bass Students & Instructors
Drumming Course Information
All Students are expected to bring their own instruments.

Snare Drum
Drummers will learn:
• Reading (basic note values to complex patterns. Score reading and writing)
• Rhythm (with and without sticking, syncopation and independence)
• Rudiments (beginner/intermediate)
• Advanced rudiments (applying rudiments to musical lines)
• Pipe band rhythms with background info and exercises for each (MSR and medley tunes)
• Tone and maintenance of the snare drum (bring your drum)
• Beginner to advanced solo or band drum scores
• PPBSO Massed Band drum scores
2008 Instructors
Instructors - Snare Drum
Hugh Cameron has been a professional drumming instructor for thirty years. He has taught and adjudicated
throughout North America, and has developed a thorough teaching method for drummers of all ages and abilities.
He has over 20 years experience in Grade 1 pipe bands as well as having won most solo drumming titles
in Ontario, including three consecutive Champion Supreme Awards for professional drumming. Hugh's principle
instructor was the late Alex Duthart.

Carl Lenny has been performing at the top of grade one for over 20 years. He played with Shotts and Dykehead under Jim Kilpatrick for a total of 9 years, winning 7 world drum corp titles as well as many other major championships.
Carl was the leading drummer for the LA Scots for 5 years and is currently the LD for Windsor Police.
